LOS ANGELES — Artimex L.L.C., an artisan Mexican bakery that produces a variety of frozen dough and fully baked products, has acquired the Tina’s Brand from Anaheim, Calif.-based Tina’s Bakery.
As part of an agreement reached July 14, Artimex said it has the exclusivity to produce all of Tina’s Brand bakery foods, including muffins, cookies, Danish, cinnamon rolls and a variety of mixed Hispanic goods.
"This strengthens the presence of Artimex in the market through the C-Store channels," said Brent Galasso, general manager at Artimex. "The synergies and philosophies will compliment our current business model, allowing us to create new and exciting products with the opportunity to expand into other
U.S. and Canadian markets."
Artimex, which is a subsidiary of the El Gallo Giro Corp., supplies 11 Mexican restaurants and bakeries in southern and northern
California. The company specializes in Mexican bakery and pastry items such as bolillos, teleras, conchas, elotes and empanadas, but also produces bagels, muffins, brownies, Danish, cookies, cakes and custards for retail, in-store bakery and food service industries.
